Of course seeing a face in an object should symbolise horror and mystery, especially if it is Sandra Bullock's face made out of twigs. It is interesting that both poster producers have gone for a similar approach, one which is quite subtle and very effective and the other which is cheesy and contrived. I thought that the film Cabin Fever was entertaining with some great dialogue, from the poster I have a feeling that Premonition would be a very poor effort!

Face Garnish: 30th July

I have collected loads of new found faces. There is nothing or revolutionary new about saying that the VW Beetle has a happy face. Anyone that has seen Herby Goes Bananas knows this! But the comparison of the Beetle face with the faces of 'evil' cars re-enforces the brand values of the Beetle to the demographic which will be likely to buy one.

I doubt any SUV's will release 'Dare to be aggressive' ad campaigns. Rather than remember individual faces, we remember how peoples' faces differ from the standard face we have stored in our brain. These were eye stickers that you could add to objects to give them personality. After scouring eBay for Meary to buy and weeks of dissapointment, I stumbled upon some fun googly eyes in Paperchase.

I decided that these eyes should be used for some philanthropy. As my cleaning lady Natasha comes along tomorrow I decided to make her job more fun.

I wouldn't like to be a cleaner, it combines my 2 least favourite activities of cleaning and tidying. One thing that would light up my day would be to work in houses with Henry brand vacuum cleaners. His anthropomorphised happy red face would make it feel like I had a fun-loving sunburnt baby elephant businessman helping me to tidy the house.

Henry doesn't live in my house. So I have left Natasha some cleaning friends to help her in the kitchen instead.

<img This has taken the last 3 weeks to complete. I then kindly took my book's application directly to the Arts Council after work.

Hopefully we will receive the relatively modest funding. But it will take 6 weeks before I hear back. Otherwise I will have to fund my book from my own pocket like some sort of literary sugar daddy.

I will begin fleshing out my research in the mean time. Maybe even write something about the book here, maybe.
