[sad face]

Boo! I got a rejection letter from the Arts Council today.

Letter from Arts Council

I will continue writing my book. But I feel like this has set me back the 3 weeks it took to write my application.

Next time I'll apply for £250,000 to tour a face based opera!

The acorn has landed

I got some face post from the Arts Council today.

So with my book eagerly sat on my knee, it was with great expectation that we opened the letter.

It is an acknowledgement. We will hear about our grant application within the next 6 weeks. Fingers and pages crossed!

The squirrel is out of the tree

Today my book has taken the first tentative step on it's journey.

With the aid of my brain and my arms I helped my book fill in an application for Art For The Grants from the Arts Council. This has taken the last 3 weeks to complete. I then kindly took my book's application directly to the Arts Council after work.

Hopefully we will receive the relatively modest funding. But it will take 6 weeks before I hear back. Otherwise I will have to fund my book from my own pocket like some sort of literary sugar daddy.

I will begin fleshing out my research in the mean time. Maybe even write something about the book here, maybe.
